In short, we set-up a relaxed structure for outdoor learning activities - a day's excursion, overnight camp or learning some practical skills and knowledge
Join in solo, or bring a small group, whether you're looking for escapism, learning or small self-challenges.
We offer flexible sessions: full day, half day, weekend, or just an evening's entertainment.
Maybe you want to explore a new area, learn some skills, or just want someone else to arrange an different kind of outdoor, camping/hiking trip?
Read on or click for examples of our locations and activities, or see upcoming courses and experiences.
→ We enable you to enjoy new adventures!
Our Approach
- we run courses and trips on schedule or on demand (when available)
- we operate in certain base regions, where we plan activities around a theme (see our typical locations and example activity details... pick from our courses, or put a new outing idea to us to plan)
- we only take small groups (max 10), to allow for an orderly and relaxed party without overwhelming individuals or the environment
- we provide a structure and lead the sessions, but try to avoid being rule-heavy
- we aim for flexibility and adaptability during all activities - our focus is on rekindling appreciation and enjoyment for outdoor life, and the forgotten skills and knowledge
- we can help with some setup, but please pack according to our essential Kit List
- we encourage participation throughout - a classic "you get more out if you put more in" - be prepared for small personal challenges (maybe spending a full day in woodlands, putting up a tent on arrival, or walking away from a typical footpath)
- we have practical experience, first aid certification, insurance and outdoor leadership training
Working with You
Equipment & Food: Our intention is to provide the construct and be your guide, supporting you to be self-supporting...
- we (currently) cannot "domestic outdoor" equipment such as tents/tableware or waterproofs, please ensure you have prepared by reading our Kit List, and let us know in advance if you are short or unclear of anything.
- similarly, we are not full caterers - please bring your own lunches, snacks and eating equipment, including backpack stoves if wanted. If conditions allow for any given outing, we'll enjoy a group "one pot" meal cooked around the fire.
Group Size: To maintain the chance for reflection and relaxation, whilst in the woods and hills, we typically keep groups to a maximum of 10 people ...
- contact us in advance if planning a group booking more than 5 people, we also want all participants to want to learn and enjoy the off-grid experience.
- we will not be responsible for management of one of the group, whether this is physical support or behavioural. Please expect to look after each other. You must make our leaders aware in advance of any health concerns or identified disabilities you may have.
Personal Comfort: Talk to us, at any stage, about any uneasiness about the unexpected, or actual events...
- a day in the outdoors provides a wealth of opportunity for new experiences - bring provisions and be ready to adapt; please discuss your hopes, expectations and concerns with us in advance, and any particular goals you have for the activities. Check our example activities and format, as a guide.
- the natural environment can change, sometimes rapidly. Both the underfoot conditions and prevailing weather will be different on each trip, and may change dramatically whilst we're out. Please come appropriately dressed, and prepared!
Involvement: For all our activities, outings, and events, we enjoy seeding inspiration and seeing you relax and adopt new knowledge; we do that inclusively and collaboratively
- we hope that you'll also enjoy time outdoors and connecting with both the landscape and other people
- discuss any specific ideas you may have, about scheduled activities or bespoke. Let us know afterwards how it was!
